Gosh I love my Friends

This is a little dedication to Gabi Cross. Purely as you are completely briliant! You love your Spirit!:)

pop-up playground 2010 / workshop

This week long workshop at the V&A challenged 1000 children to transform a shoebox into a blank stage-set, which they then personalized under the umbrella theme of ‘play’. When the children were finished with their unique designs, we added each of the shoebox models together and created a full sized pop-up playground.

El Paso, Mexican Bar and Grill, Shoreditch

The Mexican-themed
El Paso bar on Old Street in east London has been transformed into a lively bar, workspace and diner. Combining historical precedent with our own research into how contemporary ‘work-styles’ are evolving, the El Paso bar is specially designed to provide the modern nomadic worker with enhanced comfort, productivity and opportunities to interact.

The Gopher Hole is a gallery and event space located in the basement of El Paso in Hoxton, London. Our design exposes the original raw features of the space, revealing a layering of forgotten materials and activities whilst also providing an irregular backdrop for exhibitions
and critical debate on contemporary culture.

reflecting wales 09/09 2009-10 / exhibition

aberrant exhibited 'Love Stories of Recession' at Reflecting Wales 09:09, a series of stories which explore the theme of ‘work-place in the early 21st century. The exhibition is an initiative that highlights exciting emerging architectural designers who have the potential to make a significant impact on design of our built environment.

The final of a three part exhibition (the design is shown above) was the creative thinking between Kevin Hayley, David Chambers, Max Davie and myself,

Working In Wonderville

So it wasnt all fun and games we did actually work dam hard that week in Selfridges haha!

Welcome to your City: Wonderville

aberrant architecture and House of Jonn teamed up for the London festival of architecture to create the UK’s first architectural pop-up residency in a unique two week installation at London’s Selfridges. The finalised installation presented, through the giant cityscape, a new and intimate vision of multicultural London.

Zaha Hadid: Glasgow Transport Museum

aaahh Zaha! you dont half produce some beautiful buildings. Having seen very little of this design I feel that this will be rather beautiful. But will it live up to the likes of the Maxxi? Well we will have to wait and see when it is done. I will definately be up for exploring this one!

The New Ravensbourne

It has landed..

At Greenwich.

Still not sure how much of a success it is but hey the cladding system is amazing!

Desitecture

Final Vision of Vertical City

Special Mention to Vyonyx (http://vyonyx.com) for helping us visualise the Vertical City.

This was a design competition by Desitecture, a small London based firm that managed to get shortlisted for WAF 2011!!

The final outcomes and renders of the design are truly something to speculate and admire!

A new year

So its 2011..

and one of the new years resolution is to keep up to date with this for once. Examples of my work and things that inspire me will hopefully be posted on a more regular basis.. haha!

Lets see how it goes..

The Gopher Hole
I will simply direct you to the already, smashingly written articles that touch on the first exhibiton, "about a minute" by aberrant architecture and Beatrice Galee.

Have little look at the domus site (http://www.domusweb.it/en/art/the-gopher-hole-/) to see the visual delights, or perhaps take ur feet and let them leed you to the basment of el paso and indulge....with a beer...

El Paso is a Mexican bar recently rejuvinated thanks to Aberrant Architecture and with the basement being turned into The Gopher Hole, a gallery where young artists, designers and architects can gather and meet to exchange ideas and look at design in a very different way.
